If you want your scanner to represent the color accurately in scans, you should calibrate it.

  1. Make sure your scanner is connected to your computer with a cable or over the network.

  2. Scan your calibration target and save it as an uncompressed TIFF file.

  3. Go to the Desktop and start typing Settings.

  4. Click on Settings.

  5. Click Color in the sidebar to open the panel.

  6. Select your scanner.

  7. Press Calibrate… to commence the calibration.

Scanner devices are incredibly stable over time and temperature, so do not usually need to be recalibrated.
